General Purpose Industrial

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has combined trusted fabrics and adhesives from Chemfab and Furon (makers of brands such as CHEMSTIK® and CHR®) to create a range of high performance pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes for the packaging industry. These tapes are constructed of fiberglass fabric impregnated with pure polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) and coated with premium adhesive formulated for high temperature operation.

The range also includes tapes with acrylic adhesive, ideal for those applications where non-stick or anti-friction properties are required but extreme heat resistance is not.

Heat Sealing

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics CHR® brand pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, with their high speed durability and long life-span at high temperatures, have been designed specifically for the packaging industry. The CHR® series uses fiberglass fabric impregnated with pure polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) and coated with premium adhesives. These tapes provide superior non-stick surfaces which will allow your equipment to work more smoothly and efficiently. Widely used on L-bar sealers, jaws, drawers, irons and form-fill-seal machinery, CHR® tapes can be applied to equipment used to seal cellophane, polyethylene, polypropylene, wax paper, foils, and other laminated packaging materials.

CHR® tapes are available with two types of adhesive: silicone or acrylic. The premium silicone type is suitable for use at high temperatures, while tape with acrylic adhesive is ideal for those applications where only non-stick or anti-friction properties are required.

Thermal, Plasma, Flame Spray

CHR® brand thermal spray tapes from leading manufacturer Saint-Gobain are coated with a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive capable of performing well in temperatures as high as 260oC (500F). This range of tape, with its physically and chemically unique backing material, is designed to meet the specific needs of the thermal spray industry.
CHR® thermal spray tapes have been tested in a wide range of grit-blasting and thermal spray applications, and even meet the special demands of HVOF. CHR® tapes effectively protect adjacent surfaces from the spray and also provide excellent thermal and abrasion resistance.
